Tessa gave Finn the chalk and asked him to mark where his heel stood.
He had stopped at the outer edge of the sleeping-area threshold, facing the yard. A thin charged line followed the repaired frame. The marks Tessa asked for went on ordinary concrete beyond it.
“Here?”
“Your heel. Then step back.”
He drew a white dash and returned inside. Ruth Danner watched from the doorway while Tessa checked the old installation drawing against the physical posts and fittings. Mara held the paper flat in the morning breeze. The same yard that had made loading difficult before now seemed much larger.
The outline covered the two sleeping areas and the small office refuge. The short loading extension had a separate mark, currently off after the completed delivery. Beyond both lay the intake structure, its valves and narrow access path entirely outside the installed protected space.
Finn followed Tessa’s finger.
“We could take the spare pieces and put them there.”
