Terms of Use
Last updated: November 5, 2026
The rules for reading, subscribing, posting and publishing on Screw Loose Novels, in plain words.
Using the site
Screw Loose Novels is run by Lord Screw Loose, an independent author based in the United States. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
Free chapters are free for anyone to read. Chapters beyond the free schedule open to supporters, and more chapters become free every day.
The stories
The novels by Lord Screw Loose, their text and their cover art belong to their author. You may read them on this site and share links to them. Please don’t copy, repost, translate or sell them elsewhere without permission.
All stories are works of fiction.
Subscriptions
- Plans and prices are listed on the Support page. Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe and renew until you cancel.
- The Read Ahead plan starts with a 7-day free trial for readers who have never subscribed before. If no card is on file when the trial ends, the trial simply ends and nothing is charged.
- You can change or cancel your plan at any time from the Support page, which opens Stripe’s billing portal. After you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve already paid for; it just stops renewing.
- Refunds: payments aren’t refunded for partly used months. If you were charged by mistake or something went wrong, email [email protected] within 7 days of the charge and we’ll put it right.
- Patreon pledges are handled by Patreon under Patreon’s own terms. Logging in with Patreon opens chapters according to your current pledge.
Reviews and bug reports
Reviews and bug reports are public. Keep them about the books and the site, and don’t post other people’s private information. Posting is limited to a few posts per hour per reader to keep spam out. When posts are removed: we remove posts that break these rules, are spam, or share someone else’s private information, and repeated abuse can lose you the ability to post.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the site running, but it may sometimes be unavailable. Release schedules, plans and features may change; the current plans and prices are always on the Support page.
Liability and governing law
The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Lord Screw Loose isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for your subscription in the 12 months before the claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where the operator lives, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the courts of that state, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them locally.
