Chapter 210: The Penrose Auxiliary Power Takeoff

When five hundred hundred-mile dreadnoughts open their primary ordnance bays simultaneously in deep space, the universe itself groans under the kinetic payload.

Across the Jovian orbital corridor, three thousand primary torpedo tubes on the Concordat warships ignited with dark violet ignition plumes. Five thousand *Nine-Abyss Spatial Torpedoes*—each a fifty-foot cylinder of hardened void-iron packed with fifty tons of magnetically confined anti-matter and etched with soul-rending spatial collapse talismans—shot into the vacuum in three dense, staggered waves.

Each torpedo was designed to crack a continental tectonic plate in half. Five thousand of them traveling together formed a roaring black wall of localized spatial obliteration, distorting the starfield behind them like cracked bottle glass.

Aboard the *Hammer of the Empyrean*, Arch-Dominus Wu Ji leaned forward against the marble railing, his knuckles white with imperial fury.

"Witness the wrath of the Seven-Star Palace!" Wu Ji snarled, his eyes reflecting the blinding violet flare of the torpedo barrage. "No barrier can resist five thousand Nine-Abyss warheads! Even a ninth-stage Void Sovereign would be torn into raw elemental dust by such a concentration of antimatter! Let that insolent municipal laborer become the fuel for his own funeral pyre!"

Two thousand miles away in the dark, Austin stood atop the buckled bow armor of the leading destroyer, still holding his grease pencil.

He looked up through his dark Shade-14 welding goggles at the incoming black wall of five thousand near-light antimatter warheads screaming toward him at twenty thousand miles per second.

His retinal display flashed an immediate amber diagnostic alert:

DEV CONSOLE
STANDALONE HOST
[EXTERNAL ENERGY INFLUX DETECTED: HIGH-VOLTAGE SURGE]
Incoming Kinetic Mass: 250,000 Metric Tons Antimatter Core
Projected Impact Velocity: Mach 94,000
Potential Total Energy Yield: 1.50 Zettawatts [Gross]
Influx Classification: Unregulated Unmetered Generation
Recommendation: Engage Penrose Regenerative Braking Shunt
Ballast Load Required: 1,350 lbs [+50 lbs Lead Slug Added]

Austin’s eyes widened slightly behind his welding goggles in pure, calculating economic greed.

"Two hundred and fifty thousand tons of high-density antimatter reactant," Austin muttered, pulling his grease pencil from behind his ear to scribble a quick series of kinetic equations on the back of his yellow clipboard. "Traveling on a direct, straight-line vector toward my center of mass. If I deflect that into deep space, that’s just pure waste. Total thermodynamic inefficiency. That’s at least one point five zettawatts of usable kinetic energy just floating out there for the taking."

He clicked his comms open to the Ceres primary control room.

"Tie Kuang, are the substation capacitors on Ceres primed?"

*"Primed and chilled to four Kelvin, Boss,"* Tie Kuang’s voice boomed back over the radio. *"Chonker just finished purging the main liquid-helium lines. We’ve got twelve million farads of star-jade capacitance sitting empty and waiting for juice. Why? What are you looking at?"*

"We've got an unsolicited auxiliary generation feed coming in," Austin replied calmly. "Looks like about five thousand high-velocity fuel packets. I’m going to run them through the Penrose takeoff. Get ready to receive a two-point-five zettawatt load on the Ceres incoming busbars."

*"Wait... two point five what?!"* Xuan Ming’s voice shrieked through the channel. *"Master Austin! That is the Nine-Abyss Void-Cracking Salvo! It is composed of pure spatial antimatter forged in the weeping hearts of dead nebulas! It will unravel your physical form at the atomic level!"*

"It's just ungrounded AC input, Xuan Ming," Austin said, shaking his head. "You just need a proper bridge rectifier. And fortunately, I’ve got an extreme Kerr gravity whirlpool."

Austin reached down to his lower lumbar ballast frame. With a crisp, practiced motion, he unlatched the left locking pin and slotted a fresh fifty-pound certified lead ballast slug into the fifth auxiliary bracket.

*CLANG.*

The total ballast load locked at exactly thirteen hundred and fifty pounds.

He slapped the override lever on his hex-chamber hydrodynamic fluid balancing gyroscopes, throttling the synthetic fluorocarbon coolant pumps up to thirteen hundred and fifty RPM.

Then, Austin reached to his belt buckle and tore the black vinyl electrical tape completely off.

The microscopic Kerr black hole at the center of his dantian was suddenly laid bare to the cosmos.

Spacetime around Austin’s midsection violently warped into an inescapable optical vortex. The gravity whirlpool—the shimmering, spinning boundary between one point one one four and two point two two eight millimeters—expanded outward under the near-extremal frame-dragging spin of zero point nine four two c.

Austin unslung his five-foot titanium-tungsten pipe wrench. He clamped the eight-inch hardened serrated jaw firmly onto the thick star-jade grounding cable running down his right pant leg, effectively turning his entire body into a living, superconducting transformer core.

"All right," Austin growled, planting his steel-toed boots wide against the buckled void-iron hull. "Come to papa."

The five thousand Nine-Abyss Spatial Torpedoes arrived in a blinding, world-shattering wall of antimatter fire.

They did not detonate against Austin’s skin.

The instant the lead torpedoes crossed the outer edge of the void at two point two two eight millimeters, they entered a region of spacetime where stationary existence was mathematically impossible.

Because the microscopic black hole was spinning at near-light speed, it dragged the fabric of space along with it in a ferocious rotational vortex. The five thousand torpedoes, carrying two hundred and fifty thousand tons of antimatter, were instantly seized by the colossal frame-dragging torque.

Their trajectories were violently bent into tight, descending helical spirals around Austin’s waist.

And then, the Penrose mechanism engaged with brutal, near-light precision.

Under the extreme gravitational tidal shear of the Kerr metric, the antimatter warheads were literally torn in half within the gravity whirlpool.

One half of each warhead—the negative-energy orbital trajectories—was sucked downward across the inner event horizon at one point one one four millimeters, falling into the central dark center. As the negative energy crossed the horizon, it decreased the total rotational angular momentum of the black hole, effectively slowing down its spin by a microscopic fraction.

In exchange, by the fundamental laws of deep physics, the other half of the warheads—the positive-energy trajectories—was flung outward from the gravity whirlpool with massive, amplified kinetic velocity!

Thermodynamics worked overtime: energy was actively extracted from the rotational momentum of the black hole itself!

The positive-energy fragments of the five thousand torpedoes were flung back out into flat space at zero point nine nine nine times the speed of light, carrying their original kinetic energy plus an additional one point zero zettawatts of pure rotational energy extracted directly from Austin’s core!

*CRACK-THOOOOOOOM!*

A blinding, sapphire-blue beam of amplified kinetic back-EMF, four hundred feet wide and humming with two point five zettawatts of pure, coherent electrical power, erupted from Austin’s pipe wrench.

The beam surged down the star-jade grounding busbar, flashing along the interplanetary transmission lines directly into the Ceres substation storage banks.

Across the asteroid belt, every capacitor bank on Ceres and Vesta lit up with brilliant, blazing neon-blue illumination as twelve million farads were charged from ten percent to one hundred percent capacity in less than three tenths of a second.

A golden system alert flashed across Austin's vision:

DEV CONSOLE
STANDALONE HOST
[LEVEL 92 BREAKTHROUGH: THE GRAVITY DYNAMO]
Core Classification: Extreme Kerr Rotating Black Hole
Core Temperature: 10,000,000,000 Kelvin [10.0 Giga-K]
Total System Mass: 1.20 x 10^24 kg [16.1 Lunar Masses]
Radiative Power Output: 2.50 Zettawatts
Local Surface Gravity: 94.0G
Penrose Extraction Efficiency: 128.4% [Super-Radiant Mode]
Ballast Weight: 1,350 lbs Certified Lead Slugs
Storage Status: Ceres Capacitor Banks 100% Charged

Austin exhaled a long breath of superheated vapor, feeling the immense, crushing power of ten billion Kelvin circulating smoothly through his reinforced meridian conduits. The ninety-four Gs of localized surface gravity pinned his heavy boots to the hull like industrial electromagnets.

"Clean," Austin said, nodding in deep satisfaction. "Very clean regenerative braking. That just shaved fourteen percent off the Ceres smelting plant charging schedule."

However, the Penrose process did not stop with charging the Ceres substation.

Because Austin had grounded the primary power takeoff into the star-jade line, the remaining reverse-phase magnetic back-EMF had to go somewhere. And under the laws of inductive circuits, an ungrounded secondary pulse always follows the path of lowest electrical resistance.

The lowest resistance path in the Jovian orbital corridor was the three thousand open torpedo launch tubes of the Concordat vanguard destroyers, which had just fired the salvo and left their magnetic induction coils wide open to the void!

*ZAP-CRACKLE-BOOOOOOOOM!*

A staggering, reverse-polarity kinetic shockwave shot backward along the torpedo trajectories, directly down the throats of fifty Concordat escort destroyers!

Aboard fifty separate hundred-mile warships, the main spiritual power breakers exploded in fountains of molten copper and sapphire plasma. The reverse-current surged straight into their central void-reactors, instantly tripping their magnetic containment fields.

*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*

Fifty hundred-mile destroyers detonated in rapid, synchronized succession, their black void-iron hulls splitting open like overripe melons as their antimatter fuel stores collapsed. Billions of tons of burning debris and molten armor plates sprayed across forty thousand miles of open space, forming an expanding, glowing nebula of scrap metal.

Aboard the flagship *Hammer of the Empyrean*, the entire bridge shook as if struck by a falling moon.

Arch-Dominus Wu Ji was thrown from his command dais, tumbling down the jade steps in a tangle of golden silk robes and shattered jade beads. He scrambled to his hands and knees, staring through the scrying crystal with wide, bloodshot eyes that bulged in utter, hysterical terror.

Fifty of his capital destroyers had been wiped from existence in a single heartbeat.

And standing in the center of the smoking wreckage, untouched by flame or radiation, was the solitary figure in the orange safety vest.

The mortal laborer had replaced the black tape over his belt buckle, slung his five-foot pipe wrench back over his shoulder, and was currently brushing a speck of burning void-iron ash off his yellow hard hat.

"He... he caught the Nine-Abyss Salvo..." Wu Ji whimpered, blood trickling from his nose as his spiritual sea convulsed in primal horror. "He caught five thousand antimatter warheads in his belly... drank their wrath... and spat it back through our launch tubes as an amplified lightning tribulation! What kind of monster is this?! What kind of ancient celestial demon disguises itself as a municipal repairman?!"

Out in the void, Austin looked at the fifty blooming fireballs of burning capital ships.

He unclipped his comms and let out a tired, exasperated sigh.

"Tie Kuang," Austin said into the radio.

*"Yeah, Boss?"* Tie Kuang replied, the sound of crackling capacitor gauges humming in the background.

"Get Chonker and the salvage tractors ready," Austin said, shaking his head. "Now those idiots have scattered fifty million tons of unpermitted, jagged metal debris across the entire commercial shipping lane. That’s a Class-Three hazardous materials spill. I’m going to have to impound the rest of this fleet just to cover the cleanup costs."
