In the Upper Void Realm, the Grand Star Tower had lost three instruments in as many days.
The problem was not only the two new suns. Their moving mass sent waves through space, and those waves made a mess of charts that had been trusted for ages.
Grand Astrologer Yuan Chen showed the damage to Supreme Grand Inquisitor Xuan Ming and Junior Judge Bai Ze.
“The mortal builder is raising a tower toward our boundary,” Yuan said. “He has split a star and chained its power to the ground. If this continues, the lower realms will no longer stay below us.”
Xuan Ming studied the image in the viewing well. To him, the issue was simple.
“Mortals were barred from the upper sky because their wars once reached the Nine Heavens,” he said. “That barrier kept the order of every realm. This tower is a road around it.”
Bai Ze leaned closer to the image. “It may also be a power station.”
“A weapon can be a power station before lunch and a siege platform after.”
