High above the one-hundred-thousand-foot summit crown, the vacuum of space began to shred like rotten, sun-bleached cloth.

Driven to hysterical, apocalyptic madness by Austin’s municipal deficiency citation, Supreme Grand Inquisitor Xuan Ming had pushed the thirty mile-long dreadnoughts into forbidden, ruinous overdrive. Deep within the obsidian hulls, the bound eighth-stage Void-Wyrm cores shrieked with agonizing spiritual intensity, their ancient souls whipped past two hundred percent thermal operating limits.

Across the twelve-mile spatial rift, the crimson-and-black edges of the dimensional wound began to curl inward, forming a titanic spatial vortex that threatened to collapse the local metric of spacetime and drag the top thirty kilometers of the planet’s atmosphere into the unmaking void.

Upon the bridge of the flagship, *The Sovereign Eye of Judgment*, twenty high-ranking Inquisitorial elders were frantically chanting ancient Sanskrit incantations, their fingers flying across spiritual jade control pedestals that were glowing red-hot from excessive current draw.

"Supreme Grand Inquisitor!" shouted Acolyte Chen, his silk robes drenched in cold sweat as he read the spiritual scrying mirrors. "The Void-Wyrm’s blood-essence is boiling! The containment runes on the keel are developing micro-fractures! If we sustain this energy level for more than three minutes, the back-EMF will incinerate our nascent souls!"

"I CARE NOT!" Xuan Ming roared, his thirty-foot avatar glowing with unstable, blinding radiance as his seven black-hole halos spun so fast they blurred into a single ring of dark fire. "ALIGN THE DIMENSIONAL DISRUPTION LANCE! COLLAPSE THE FIRMAMENT! LEVEL THAT BLASPHEMOUS IRON NEEDLE TO DUST! IN THE FIRST EPOCH, WE BROKE THE CELESTIAL TITANS WITH THIS VERY STRIKE! NO MORTAL CONTRIVANCE OF TITANIUM AND WIRE SHALL HUMILIATE THE HIGH TRIBUNAL!"

At the center of the thirty-ship battle line, thirty titanic focus rings locked into collinear alignment, concentrating enough anti-spatial energy to shatter a continent’s tectonic plate into drifting volcanic islands.

Down on the summit deck of the Skyway, Austin stood completely alone.

Behind him, inside the titanium-mesh Faraday cage of the high-speed elevator car, Tie Kuang, Jiang Taixu, and Patriarch Guang Ming were watching through their gold-tinted faceplates, their knuckles white against their safety lanyards.

Austin didn't raise a shield. He didn't draw a sword. He didn't even drop his clipboard.

He stepped up to the control pedestal of the newly mounted Superconducting Orbital Broadcast Array.

The thirty-meter parabolic dish—forged from polished, lightweight beryllium-copper alloy and internally laced with liquid-helium-cooled niobium-titanium superconducting coils—swiveled smoothly on its two-axis gimbal. Austin reached out with gloved hands, grasping the fine-pitch brass adjustment handwheels that controlled azimuth and elevation.

*CLICK. CLICK. CLICK.*

He dialed the azimuth by 0.04 degrees west, and the elevation up by 0.02 degrees, aligning the parabolic dish’s focal point dead-center on the throat of the twelve-mile spatial rift.

Inside his dantian, the binary engine roared into full, uncompromising life.

`LEVEL: 72 (BINARY SOL-CLASS CONTACT PHASE III).` `CORE TEMPERATURE: 24,000,000 KELVIN.` `MASS QUADRUPOLE MOMENT: ACTIVE.` `METRIC STRAIN AMPLITUDE (h): MAXIMUM COHERENCE.` `AVAILABLE RADIATIVE OUTPUT: 15.0 EXAWATTS.` `SUPERCONDUCTING COUPLING: 100.0% EFFICIENCY.`

"You know," Austin muttered into his helmet microphone, his voice deadpan, relaxed, and conversational as he adjusted the feed horn micrometer, "in electrical and acoustic engineering, an open spatial rift is really just a bad line mismatch in the fabric of space. It's an un-terminated bouncing wave hitting an open dead-end, creating wild power reflections."

Tie Kuang’s voice crackled through the UHF radio from inside the elevator cage, his voice thick with uncomprehending awe. "Master... an... an un-terminated standing wave?! What manner of celestial scripture is this?!"

"Basic transmission line theory, Tie Kuang," Austin replied, his yellow grease pencil tapping against the vellum on his clipboard. "When you have a high standing wave ratio, you don't fight it with more brute force. That just increases the reflected power and blows up your final amplifier tubes. What you do is inject a phase-inverted signal with equal amplitude and an exact one-hundred-and-eighty-degree phase shift. Destructive interference. The peak of our wave cancels the trough of their wave. Result? Net energy equals zero, and the standing wave collapses."

Jiang Taixu leaned forward against the elevator mesh, his eyes shining with pure spiritual enlightenment. "To strike the wave with its own shadow... to offer stillness where there is wrath... it is the Supreme Dao of Inverted Harmony!"

"Call it whatever you want, Jiang," Austin muttered, reaching for the primary power bus breaker—a massive, six-inch solid copper knife-switch connected directly to the output of his dantian’s binary core. "I call it active noise cancellation on an exawatt scale."

He checked the chiller gauges on the dish’s cooling loop.

`LIQUID HELIUM TEMP: 4.2 KELVIN.` `ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE: 0.0000 OHMS.` `SUPERCONDUCTING STATUS: LOCKED.`

"Fifteen exawatts of coherent microwave energy, frequency-modulated by our twenty-six point six Hertz quadrupole gravitational wave carrier," Austin announced to the silent vacuum. "Let’s see how that spatial rift likes an inverted load."

Austin pulled the knife-switch down with a decisive, metallic *KA-THUNK*.

The universe ceased to make sense.

From the thirty-meter parabolic dish of the Orbital Broadcast Array, zero chaos emerged. No thunder. No ragged fire.

A blinding, laser-straight column of pure, solid white-gold stellar coherence erupted into the void.

Fifteen exawatts of thermonuclear power—drawn directly from the twenty-four-million-Kelvin hearts of Sol-Alpha and Sol-Beta—erupted from the dish in a laser-straight, thirty-meter-wide beam of pure electromagnetic and gravitational force.

The beam shot upward across five miles of vacuum at the speed of light.

It crossed the path of the incoming Dimensional Disruption Lance.

The two forces met.

And there was no explosion.

The thirty dreadnoughts’ crimson-and-black spatial lance did not detonate. The moment it encountered the phase-inverted fifteen-exawatt gravitational wave carrier, the destructive interference took effect with instantaneous mathematical perfection.

The peaks of the void waves collided with the troughs of the binary gravitational waves.

$+1$ met $-1$.

The result was absolute, pristine zero.

In less than four nanoseconds, the continent-shattering spatial lance simply vanished, cancelled out of physical existence as cleanly as noise-canceling headphones silence the drone of a jet engine.

And the fifteen-exawatt beam didn't even slow down.

It slammed straight into the mouth of the twelve-mile spatial rift.

*THWUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM—*

A silent, cosmic tremor rippled through the low-orbital vacuum.

The raw metric strain of Austin’s quadrupole gravitational waves poured into the edges of the spatial tear, neutralizing the unnatural tension that was holding reality open. The black-and-crimson dimensional fire sputtered, flickered, and died.

And then, with the sudden, violent snap of an overstretched rubber band being released, the twelve-mile spatial rift collapsed.

The fabric of spacetime snapped shut, smoothing itself out into the pristine, unblemished blackness of deep space.

The Upper Void Realm was gone. The gateway between the mortal plane and the heavenly courts was sealed shut, leaving the thirty mile-long dreadnoughts stranded on the mortal side of the firmament with zero escape vector and no line of retreat.

And the fifteen-exawatt electromagnetic wash didn't stop at the rift.

The coherent microwave pulse swept across the hulls of all thirty dreadnoughts.

Because the dreadnoughts were forged from dense, ungrounded void-obsidian with unshielded external wiring runs, the massive electromagnetic pulse induced billions of amperes of destructive eddy currents directly into their metallic frames.

*BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT-POP-POP-POP!*

Across twenty-nine dreadnoughts, millions of astral-silver anti-gravity runes simultaneously blew their connections.

The bound Void-Wyrm engines, overwhelmed by the sudden back-EMF surge ($V = -L \frac{di}{dt}$), tripped their spiritual circuit breakers. The glorious blue engine fires along their mile-long keels sputtered, flickered, and went completely dark.

Twenty-nine mile-long dreadnoughts ceased all active maneuvering, their thrusters dead, their weapon batteries fried, left drifting helplessly in low Earth orbit like thirty colossal, metallic dead whales.

Only the flagship, *The Sovereign Eye of Judgment*, maintained a pathetic, sputtering trickle of auxiliary power.

Its main anti-gravity field was dead, and its heavy obsidian hull began to roll sixty degrees to the starboard, listing drunkenly in the void.

Spinning momentum took hold. The dead-stick flagship, incapable of maintaining orbital altitude, began to tumble slowly downward through the vacuum, on a direct collision vector toward the 100,000-foot summit crown of the Skyway.

Upon the flagship’s bridge, Supreme Grand Inquisitor Xuan Ming sat sprawled across his shattered throne, his thirty-foot avatar flickering like a dying lightbulb in a brownout.

The seven revolving black holes around his crown had completely collapsed into harmless puffs of static electricity. His golden scepter had cooled into a dull, tarnished yellow bar, and his hands were trembling so violently that he could not even form a basic spiritual mudra.

"The... the rift..." Xuan Ming wheezed, his ancient voice cracked and broken. "He... he cancelled the rift... with light? With... with numbers?!"

Beside him, Junior Inquisitor Bai Ze sat huddled in a ball on the obsidian deck, his orange high-visibility vest pulled tightly over his head to block out the sight of the approaching tower.

"I told you, Grand Inquisitor..." Bai Ze wept into his knees. "I told you to sign the impound waiver. I told you he has a five-foot pipe wrench and a fourteen-page liability contract. Now he’s going to use his thirty-two-millimeter socket on our rudder, and we’re going to spend the next five thousand years sweeping his concrete floors!"

Down on the summit catwalk, Austin calmly let go of the parabolic dish’s adjustment handwheels.

He reached down, pulled the knife-switch open, cutting off the fifteen-exawatt broadcast, and clicked his ballpoint pen against his clipboard.

He pulled a handheld laser rangefinder from his harness, aimed the red reticle at the tumbling flagship’s bow, and checked the distance readout.

`TARGET RANGE: 4.2 KILOMETERS.` `CLOSING VELOCITY: 142 METERS / SECOND.` `PROJECTED IMPACT POINT: 14 METERS SOUTH OF ASTEROID SPAR.`

Austin let out a long, theatrical sigh.

"Four point two kilometers out, descending at three hundred miles per hour without steering thrusters," Austin grumbled, shaking his head. "Tie Kuang! Jiang Taixu! Step out of the elevator car. We need the heavy nylon towing straps, four forty-ton snatch blocks, and the twenty-ton come-alongs."

He unslung his trusty five-foot cast-titanium pipe wrench from his shoulder, spinning the knurled adjustment ring with his thumb until the heavy steel jaws opened to their maximum five-inch bite.

"The flagship's coming in for a dead-stick landing. Time to board that derelict barge and conduct the final executive code audit."
