The sky above the Seventh Spire was silent once more.
Drifting aimlessly in the warm, ozone-scented breeze were twelve charred, mast-less hulks of star-steel.
Their dragon-bone armor was blackened. Their imperial banners were reduced to floating cinders. Where forty mighty celestial aether-cannons had once stood, only forty hardened puddles of pearlescent metal slag remained, dripping sluggishly into the sea of clouds below.
Aboard the battered flagship *Iron Sovereign*, a white bedsheet tied to a broken halberd pole was frantically waved back and forth.
Fleet Admiral Balthazar Ashford, crawling on his hands and knees across the scorched deck, clutched the speaking horn with trembling fingers.
"We surrender!" Balthazar’s voice wheezed through the horn, cracking with pure, unadulterated terror that echoed across all seven peaks of the Radiant Dawn Academy. "The Ashford Imperial Fleet surrenders unconditionally! We beg the Primordial Sovereign for mercy!"
Down on the Seventh Spire, Felix Vance had already closed the kitchen door.
He didn't care about the surrender. He didn't care about the white flag. He had already walked back into the hallway to check if the bedroom was quiet enough for his nap.
Balthazar, seeing no response from the humble cottage, panicked even harder.
*He... he refuses to acknowledge us!* the admiral thought, cold sweat washing over his soot-stained skin. *Our presence is still polluting his sacred domain! If we linger here another minute, he will sneeze and erase our clan's ancestral home from the continent!*
"Jettison the tribute!" Balthazar screamed at his terrified crew. "Empty the imperial holds! Drop every jade chest, every silk bale, every barrel of vintage spirit wine onto the lawn as restitution for disturbing the Sovereign's peace! Cut the engine lines and row! ROW WITH THE EMERGENCY OARS!"
*THUD! THUD! THUD!*
Dozens of heavy, gilded treasure chests plunged from the cargo bays of the retreating dreadnoughts, landing with heavy thuds in the overgrown weeds beside Felix’s cabbage patch.
Then, with an embarrassing flurry of wooden oars extended through auxiliary rowing ports, the twelve blackened warships turned tail and fled.
They limped away into the western cloud bank as fast as mortal sweat could propel them, leaving behind a trail of black smoke and ruined dignity.

Three miles away, on the Solar Peak of the Radiant Dawn Academy, the silence was deafening.
Grand Chancellor Zhao, along with seventy-two senior peak masters and grand elders, stood on the grand marble balcony. Their mouths hung open. Their hands clutched the balustrade so hard that spiderweb cracks ran through the white stone.
Arch-Inquisitor Valen stood in the front row, his immaculate silver goatee trembling like an autumn leaf.
In his right hand, he held the red-sealed eviction notice for Solitude Spire that he had been preparing to execute for the past month.
Without looking down, Valen slowly channeled a spark of fire mana into his fingertips.
*Fwump.*
The heavy vellum parchment ignited instantly, turning into a curling ribbon of black ash that blew away on the wind.
"Chancellor..." Valen whispered, his voice shaking so violently his teeth clicked together. "The... the eviction notice for Solitude Spire... has suffered an accidental bureaucratic loss."
Grand Chancellor Zhao swallowed hard, wiping cold sweat from his pale forehead with the sleeve of his golden robe.
"What eviction notice?" the Grand Chancellor rasped, turning his wide, bloodshot eyes toward the head archivist. "Erase all records. Erase every tax bill. Effective immediately, the Seventh Spire is no longer an academy branch."
The Grand Chancellor looked back toward the quiet, sunlit cottage in the distance.
"From this day forth, Solitude Spire is designated a **Tier-Nine Primordial Sovereign Sanctuary**," Zhao proclaimed with absolute finality. "Any elder, disciple, or visiting dignitary who flies within five miles of that peak without a written invitation shall be executed for treason against the heavens. And post a permanent decree on the academy gates: under no circumstances is anyone permitted to make noise between one and four o'clock in the afternoon!"
"Understood!" seventy-two elders chorused at once, bowing their heads in unison toward the distant peak.

Down on the Seventh Spire, the air was warm, sweet, and quiet.
Lyra Ashford stood on the front porch steps, her slender mithril rapier sheathed at her hip.
Her golden eyes shone with unshed tears of profound, overwhelming reverence as she watched the last traces of smoke from the fleeing armada dissolve into the azure skybox.
She turned around, gazing upon the small wooden cottage.
To any ignorant passerby, it was just a crooked shack with warped cedar siding and a rusty tin mailbox.
To Lyra, it was the center of the universe. The dwelling of a primordial entity who had subdued an entire imperial battlefleet with a single, lazy afternoon yawn.
*He protected me,* she thought, her heart swelling with an emotion so fierce it bordered on religious ecstasy. *He didn't care about the wrath of the Ashford Clan. He didn't care about forty heavy siege cannons. He swept them all aside... simply so this disciple could continue tending his garden in peace.*
The front door pushed open again.
Felix stepped back out onto the porch, holding an unrolled straw mat under his arm.
He stopped at the porch railing, looking down at the front yard in sheer disbelief.
Sitting in the middle of the overgrown weeds, neatly piled in a shining pyramid beside the glowing Sun-Lotus Cabbage, were thirty-two colossal chests made of carved spirit-jade and bound in bands of celestial gold.
Scattered around the chests were bolts of shimmering, midnight-blue silk, barrels of aged plum wine, and dozens of polished brass incense burners.
Felix’s brows furrowed.
"What in the world..." Felix grumbled, scratching his chin. "Who dumped all this junk on my lawn? Did the flying hot-air balloons drop their luggage?"
Lyra immediately dropped to one knee on the cedar porch, bowing her head until her forehead nearly touched Felix’s straw slippers.
"Senior Brother!" Lyra said, her voice rich with devotion. "The Ashford Armada has surrendered unconditionally! In their terror, they have offered their entire fleet's imperial tribute as restitution for their unforgivable insolence! These are the treasures of the High Sun Empire!"
Felix squinted at the giant heap of glowing boxes.
He tilted his chin, and a series of translucent black brackets snapped into focus over the treasure pile:
【Item: Imperial Tribute Chests (x32)】 【Contents: 50,000 High-Grade Spirit Crystals, Rare Mountain Teas, 800-Thread-Count Egyptian-Grade Celestial Silk】 【Total Vendor Value: 1,200 Gold Coins】 【Inspector Note: An exceptional drop rate for a five-minute public event boss encounter. The silk blankets are woven from the cocoons of astral silkworms—impossibly soft, dirt-resistant, and thermally balanced. An S-tier upgrade for anyone who values a top-quality sleeping experience.】
Felix’s eyes lit up slightly at the last line.
"Eight-hundred-thread-count silk?" he muttered, his tone instantly softening. "Dirt-resistant?"
He hopped down from the porch steps, shuffled over to the nearest chest, and flipped open the heavy gold latch with his foot.
Inside, neatly folded beneath layers of protective parchment, were stacks of shimmering, cloud-soft blankets in a serene shade of midnight navy.
Felix picked up one of the silk quilts and rubbed the fabric between his thumb and forefinger.
It was cool to the touch, light as thistle down, and smoother than melted butter.
"Oh, wow," Felix breathed, nodding in deep, sincere admiration. "Now that is what I call good loot. The drop rates in this game might be garbage ninety-nine percent of the time, but when they hit, they really hit."
He tucked two of the thick silk blankets under his arm and turned back toward Lyra, who was still kneeling respectfully on the porch.
"Lyra," Felix said.
"Yes, Senior Brother!" she answered instantly, her eyes shining with eager anticipation. "Whatever divine mandate you have for this disciple, I shall execute it without question!"
"You're in charge of the lawn," Felix declared, pointing a lazy thumb toward the remaining thirty-one treasure chests. "Sort through those boxes. Keep the tea leaves, the blankets, and anything that looks like dried noodles. You can dump the shiny rocks in the crawlspace under the kitchen."
Lyra’s breath caught in her throat.
*He... he is entrusting the entire imperial treasury to me?!* she thought, her soul shivering with awe. *Fifty thousand high-grade spirit crystals, enough to purchase an entire sky-province, and Senior Brother calls them 'shiny rocks' to be thrown under the kitchen floor!*
"And one more thing," Felix added, holding up a finger. "Your official job title from now on is Chief Steward of Solitude Spire."
Lyra placed her hand over her heart, bowing deeply.
"This disciple accepts the title of Chief Steward! I shall guard your sanctuary with my life!"
"Great," Felix said, waving a hand dismissively. "Your main duty is simple: if anyone comes up that mountain path trying to sell insurance, deliver flyers, or ring the front doorbell before eleven in the morning, chase them off with a broom. Understood?"
"Understood!" Lyra responded with iron resolve. "No mortal, demon, or god shall disturb your divine quietude!"
"Sounds good," Felix said. "I'm holding you to that."
He climbed back up the porch stairs, walked over to his wide hemp hammock strung between the crooked iron-wood trees, and draped the new celestial silk blankets over the ropes.
He sat down on the edge. The mattress of silk conformed to his back with heavenly perfection, cool and soothing against his skin.
Felix pulled his cracked obsidian slate from his sleeve and pressed his thumb to the center brass groove.
The screen lit up with a brilliant, celebratory amber chime:
Felix smiled a warm, peaceful, utterly untroubled smile.
"Twenty-four million watts," he murmured happily. "And a ten-pull voucher. Not a bad day at the office."
He tapped the glowing `[CLAIM ALL REWARDS]` button.
*Ding-ding-dong!*
A soft, golden chime rang behind his ears. A heavy burlap sack filled with pure mana droplets appeared under the hammock with a soft thud, while the 10x summon voucher settled neatly into his digital inventory.
Felix tapped `[ENTER SLEEP]`, and the screen faded to black.
He set the obsidian slate down on the small wooden side table next to his empty tea mug.
He lay back against the impossibly soft celestial silk, swinging his legs up into the hemp ropes.
Above him, the crooked branches of the iron-wood pine filtered the golden afternoon sunlight into gentle, dancing dappled shadows.
A gentle mountain breeze drifted across the porch, carrying the sweet, honeyed fragrance of the blooming Sun-Lotus Cabbage in the garden.
Beside the doorway, Barnaby the clockwork owl stood silently on his cedar perch, the black rubber stopper still firmly wedged into his brass beak, glaring harmlessly into space.
Felix pulled his wide-brimmed straw hat off the wall peg, tilted it down over his eyes, and rested his hands comfortably across his stomach.
"Ah," Felix Vance sighed softly into the quiet porch breeze. "Finally. Peace and quiet."
He closed his eyes.
And the Master of Solitude Spire went back to sleep.
