Chapter 090: The Permanent Attendance Waiver

Morning arrived late on Solitude Spire, precisely the way Felix Vance preferred.

It was 11:30 AM when Felix finally stirred beneath his heavy cotton quilt.

Deep inside his dantian, the 1.0-Earth-Mass Sol-Class star burned with steady, flawless warmth. The newly installed Solar Magnetic Shielding Coil hummed softly, circulating protective magnetic flux that kept his bed feeling like a luxury heated mattress.

Felix stretched his arms, letting out a long, groggy sigh.

He swung his legs out from under the blanket, slipped his feet into his frayed straw slippers, and pulled his faded gray robe over his shoulders.

He shuffled out through the kitchen, where Grandmaster Vivienne's Sovereign Heart Seal remained wedged beneath the table leg, keeping the clean breakfast bowls level.

Stepping onto the cedar porch, Felix took a deep breath of the mountain air.

The lingering magic of last night's aurora had left the atmosphere crisp and fragrant.

Out on the cedar balustrade, Barnaby the clockwork owl stood at his post. The thick black rubber stopper remained wedged between his brass mandibles, holding the polished copper coin firmly in place.

As Felix stepped onto the deck, Barnaby's head executed a slow, solemn swivel, his internal gears ticking with grandfather-clock calm.

*Tick... tick... tick...*

Down in the garden, the Ghost King had already finished his morning chores.

The skeletal terror of the Nether Abyss was sitting politely on an overturned crate, his burlap trousers dusted with dirt. He had swept every pine needle from the gravel path and stacked the morning's pulled dandelions into neat, symmetrical piles.

Nearby, the Sun-Lotus Cabbage was glowing with honeyed warmth, locking the yard at sixty-nine degrees.

Stretched out in the wild clover, the Thunder Gryphon was gnawing on a sun-dried beef bone, its golden tail flicking lazily in the breeze.

On the pine tea table next to the wicker recliner, the Ten-Thousand-Year Primordial Soul-Pearl weighed down a fresh stack of linen napkins.

And right in front of the chair, the two dragon-silk Imperial Tribute chests sat side by side, their Sun-Gold filigree gleaming in the midday light.

"Another peaceful morning," Felix murmured, scratching his ribs. "No noise, no alarms, no server maintenance."

Then the suspension bridge began to hum.

Felix paused, blinking toward the gorge. "Seriously? Right as I was about to make tea?"

Down at the rocky threshold of the bridge, a procession of figures was approaching with agonizing, ceremonial slowness.

Leading the procession were Chancellor Valen and Grand Inquisitor Drake.

Chancellor Valen was dressed in his most magnificent golden-embroidered robes of office, yet his feet were completely bare, demonstrating absolute humility before the sacred ground.

Beside him, Drake wore unclasped ceremonial armor draped in flowing white silk, his head bowed so low his chin brushed his breastplate.

Behind them marched six senior academy deacons.

The deacons were carrying an enormous litter draped in royal yellow dragon-brocade. Resting upon the litter was a massive, eight-foot-wide slab of solid star-gold.

The golden slab was engraved with nine soaring dragons and stamped with the crimson wax seals of the Council of Seven Spires, the Imperial Ministry of Rites, and the High Sun Emperor himself.

The procession reached the gravel path.

Valen and Drake did not dare step onto the cedar porch. Instead, they dropped onto both knees at the foot of the stairs, pressing their foreheads flat against the gravel.

Behind them, the six deacons gently lowered the golden slab to the ground, throwing themselves flat into the dirt as well.

The cottage door clicked open.

Lyra Ashford stepped onto the porch, her silver rapier at her side. Her aristocratic gaze narrowed as she took in the sight of the academy's supreme leadership groveling in the dirt.

"Chancellor Valen," Lyra said coldly. "Grand Inquisitor Drake. You have brought a royal entourage to Solitude Spire during Senior Brother's morning contemplation. State your purpose."

Valen slowly raised his head. His eyes were red-rimmed from weeping under the aurora all night, but his face was filled with profound, trembling reverence.

"Lady Ashford... Supreme Sovereign Vance..." Valen began, his voice shaking with raw emotion. "We come not with demands, nor with scrutiny. We come bearing the eternal repentance and absolute submission of the Radiant Dawn Academy and the Imperial High Court!"

Valen pulled a heavy parchment proclamation from his sleeve, holding it aloft with trembling hands.

"After witnessing the Nine-Colored Rainbow of Creation and the Heavenly Veil of the Emerald Aurora, the Council of Spires and the Imperial Throne have recognized the supreme truth," Valen proclaimed, his voice echoing across the peak.

"The Radiant Dawn Academy has no authority over the heavens! The High Court has no jurisdiction over the sun!"

Valen unrolled the scroll, reading the official decree:

"By unanimous decree of the Grand Council and the Imperial Seal, Solitude Spire is hereby declared the **Supreme Autonomous Patriarch Domain**!"

Valen took a shaking breath, reading through the terms:

"First: Senior Brother Felix Vance is granted permanent, unconditional exemption from all academy morning roll calls, assemblies, lecture attendance, and martial examinations!"

"Second: Solitude Spire is granted permanent, perpetual exemption from all academy tuition fees, property assessments, library fines, and imperial tribute levies for the next ten thousand generations!"

"Third: Solitude Spire is granted absolute immunity from all disciplinary inspections, curfew enforcement, dress code regulations, and mandatory uniform mandates!"

"Fourth: An absolute five-mile exclusion zone is established around Solitude Spire. Any mortal, disciple, or imperial warship that breaches this airspace without written permission shall be executed on the spot for high treason against the heavens!"

Valen bowed his forehead back into the gravel.

"We present the Golden Autonomous Plaque!" Drake cried out beside him, his voice thick with tears. "Let all under heaven know that Solitude Spire belongs only to the Sun God!"

Silence fell over the porch.

Lyra Ashford stood beside the wooden railing, her hands clutching her chest as tears spilled over her cheeks.

Her heart was overwhelmed by boundless, divine awe.

*Senior Brother did it,* Lyra thought, her soul singing with triumphant revelation. *He never left his porch. He never wielded a blade. He never argued with an elder or fought in a tournament.*

*Yet by practicing the supreme Dao of Idle Inaction, he forced the grandest academy in the world and the greatest empire on the continent to surrender completely!*

*They have abolished his taxes! They have banned all disturbance! They have codified his afternoon naps into the imperial law of the land!*

*This is the ultimate victory of the Dao! He conquered the world by lying flat!*

Lyra looked back at Felix with starry, tear-filled eyes. "Senior Brother... your effortless virtue has triumphed over all earthly authority."

Felix did not hear her words.

His eyes were completely glued to the massive slab of solid star-gold sitting in the dirt.

He activated his Inspector HUD.

【Item: Golden Autonomous Domain Plaque】 【Grade: Mythic Administrative Exploit Token】 【Authority: Co-Signed by High Sun Empire & Radiant Dawn Academy Council】 【Effects】: • 100% Exemption from Daily Attendance Quests • Permanent Immunity to NPC Inspection Events • Tuition & Maintenance Overhead Reduced to Zero • Bypasses All Mandatory Dialogue Cutscenes & Exams 【Inspector Note: You have successfully exploited a bureaucratic edge case. The game engine has flagged your character as 'Exempt from Tutorial and Story Quests.' You never have to set a morning alarm or speak to an administrative NPC ever again.】

Felix stared at the golden plaque for five long seconds.

His heart swelled with pure, unadulterated gamer euphoria.

*An attendance waiver,* Felix thought, his hands shaking slightly with joy. *A permanent, unbreakable, legal attendance waiver.*

Back on Earth, he had dreamed of this moment for his entire life.

No 7:00 AM alarm clocks. No mandatory Monday morning staff meetings. No quarterly performance reviews. No uniform dress codes. No awkward small talk with middle managers in the breakroom.

And here, in this ridiculous fantasy world, he had just unlocked the ultimate administrative glitch.

He had unlocked the permanent skip-ticket for life itself.

"The exploit actually worked," Felix whispered under his breath, a grin spreading across his face. "The bureaucratic routing error went through. Zero required attendance forever."

Valen remained prostrated on the gravel, awaiting his doom. "Supreme Sovereign... will you accept this meager plaque? Will you grant us peace?"

Felix cleared his throat. He put on his best calm, deadpan expression.

"Yeah," Felix said casually. "The plaque is acceptable."

Valen and Drake let out gasps of staggering relief, as if a mountain had been lifted from their chests.

"Thank you, Sovereign!" Valen wept. "Where shall we mount this holy monument? In the central courtyard? Above the celestial altar?"

Felix pointed a lazy finger toward the front gate at the edge of the suspension bridge.

"Mount it on the timber archway over the bridge," Felix instructed. "Face the gold outward toward the academy."

Valen blinked. "Facing outward, Sovereign?"

"Yeah," Felix said, rubbing his chin. "Make sure it's big and readable from fifty yards away. It'll work like a 'Do Not Disturb' sign. If anyone comes walking up that bridge to tell me about a mandatory assembly, I want them to read that gold slab and immediately turn around."

Valen’s breath caught in his throat.

*A divine boundary marker!* Valen thought in terror and awe. *A warning to all mortal fools that beyond this gate lies the domain of the Sun God!*

"It shall be done at once, Divine Patriarch!" Valen shouted with absolute devotion.

Valen and Drake scrambled to their feet, barking orders to the six senior deacons.

Working with frantic, reverent speed, the elders hoisted the massive star-gold plaque up the stone pillars of the gatehouse. Using pure spiritual Qi and reinforced bronze pins, they mounted the gleaming plaque squarely above the timber archway.

The star-gold caught the midday sun, blazing with nine roaring dragons and the monumental proclamation:

**[SOLITUDE SPIRE: SUPREME AUTONOMOUS PATRIARCH DOMAIN — NO MORTAL INTRUSION UPON THE SUN'S REST]**

"The decree is mounted, Supreme Sovereign!" Drake announced, bowing deeply from the path. "From this day forth, the bridge is sealed. We shall guard the perimeter day and night to ensure your rest remains eternal!"

"Great," Felix said, waving a hand. "You guys can go now. My lunch is getting cold."

"At once, Sovereign!" Valen called out.

The Chancellor and the Inquisitor backed away down the suspension bridge, bowing at every step until they crossed the gorge and disappeared into the clouds.

The bridge grew still.

The mountain wind settled.

Above the gate, the gold plaque gleamed with proud, unyielding authority, warding off every bureaucrat, inspector, and exam proctor for a hundred leagues.

Felix let out a long, deeply satisfying breath.

He walked over to his wicker recliner and collapsed into the plush cushions.

He kicked off his frayed straw slippers, stretching his legs out until his bare heels rested squarely upon the two dragon-silk Imperial Tribute chests.

*Thump.*

The fourteen-inch height was perfection.

His knees bent comfortably, his lower back settled with zero strain, and the Sun-Gold ingots inside warmed his soles.

Over on the railing, Barnaby the clockwork owl gave a rhythmic, content *tick... tick... tick...*

Down in the garden, the Ghost King bowed toward the new golden gate, then happily resumed raking loose dirt around the Sun-Lotus Cabbage.

In the clover, the Thunder Gryphon curled into a golden ball and began to snore.

Lyra walked over, carrying a wooden tray with a bowl of hot noodle soup and a pot of jasmine tea. She placed it gently upon the low pine table, where the Ten-Thousand-Year Primordial Soul-Pearl kept the napkins securely in place.

"Your lunch, Senior Brother," Lyra said softly, her voice filled with deep peace. "The world has yielded to your tranquility."

"Thanks, Lyra," Felix said, picking up his chopsticks.

He pulled the AetherDeck from his pocket, resting it against the armrest.

The screen lit up with smooth, matte contrast under the midday sun.

Felix looked at the bottom recommendation and nodded in profound agreement.

"Now that's what I call game optimization," Felix murmured.

He slurped a mouthful of hot noodles, drank a cup of warm jasmine tea, and pushed the tray aside.

He pulled his cotton blanket up to his chest, crossed his ankles over the tribute chests, and closed his eyes.

Under the bright midday sun of Aethelgard, the Master of Solitude Spire drifted peacefully into his afternoon nap, completely free from the mortal world forever.
