Director Weber pushed his spectacles up the bridge of his nose.
“Starlight International Plaza was built by our Scandinavian Real Estate Sovereign Trust,” Director Weber said. “Local operation was leased to the Ouyang and Song commercial consortium. But after their margin calls today, our trust is exercising our emergency liquidation clause.”
Lin Mo glanced over at Su Wan and Shen Qiaoqiao.
“Su Wan, Qiaoqiao,” Lin Mo asked casually. “How much is this entire shopping plaza worth on the open market?”
Su Wan pulled up the commercial database on her tablet.
“The retail podium covers two hundred thousand square meters,” Su Wan said. “Gross asset appraisal is roughly two billion yuan. However, with the current debt defaults and frozen retail revenues, the trust’s distress exit valuation is one point five billion.”
“One point five billion,” Lin Mo nodded. “A very sensible price for an entire city block.”
“Xiao Mo, are you planning to buy a whole shopping mall just to park our vans?” Grandma Chen asked, adjusting her new jade bangle. “Back in the village, we just parked the tractor by the river.”
