Grandmaster Huo Zhen sat on the edge of the examination bed in Taichu Hospital’s VIP recovery suite.
He was wearing a fresh dark gray cotton tunic.
The old master held his hands before his chest, breathing in long, rhythmic cycles.
With every breath, a warm golden aura rippled across his skin. His internal qi, completely freed from the chronic lung fire, circulated smoothly through all twelve primary meridians.
Beside him, Dr. Gu Qinghe removed his stethoscope with a beaming smile.
“Chairman Lin,” Dr. Gu said proudly. “Grandmaster Huo’s vital capacity has surpassed that of an Olympic swimmer. His internal martial power has fully stabilized at the Peak of Rank 2. In another month, he will break through to Rank 3 Grandmaster.”
Tie Niu stood by the window with his arms crossed, his eyes glowing with warrior admiration.
“A master who spent thirty years enduring lung fire to feed thirty street orphans,” Tie Niu said, his voice deep with respect. “Grandmaster Huo has more backbone than the entire Black-Tiger Alliance put together.”
