The armored black convoy cut through the morning mist along Innovation Avenue.
Sirens cleared morning commuter traffic as five heavy Taichu SUVs escorted Lin Mo’s Maybach toward Tianhai Science Park.
Inside the Maybach, Su Wan monitored the high-tech park’s power grid on her tablet.
“Chairman, Cleanroom Tower 1’s main electrical substation was manually cut twenty minutes ago,” Su Wan reported, her voice tight. “The climate-controlled vacuum chambers are running on emergency battery backup. Those backup cells will exhaust within forty minutes.”
Lin Mo looked out the tinted window, his eyes cold and calm.
Corporate patent sharks moving in the morning after a typhoon, Lin Mo thought. They waited until Murong Construction’s board was in handcuffs, thinking they could steal the intellectual property before the state stepped in. Truly parasitic efficiency.
The convoy surged through the wrought-iron gates of Tianhai Science Park.
Outside Cleanroom Tower 1, the plaza looked like a war zone.
