Chapter 153: The Western Sky Alliance Mobilizes

Three thousand miles to the west, beyond the jagged peaks of the Iron-Spire Mountains, sat the sovereign citadel of Kar-Thun.

It was the military heart of the Western Obsidian Coalition.

Colossal towers forged from black soul-iron pierced the stormy skies, surrounded by endless dry docks where armored flying fortresses rested like sleeping leviathans.

Inside the High Astrological Observatory of the citadel, complete chaos had erupted.

Massive bronze armillary spheres spun with violent, screeching friction, their interlocking rings glowing white-hot.

Alchemical scrying pools bubbled furiously, spraying boiling mercury across the iron floorplates.

"Report!" a harsh, gravelly voice barked, echoing through the vaulted metal chamber like a war horn. "What has triggered the Grand Astrolabe?!"

Grand Marshal Vane-Talon marched into the observatory, his heavy adamantine war boots clanging against the grating.

He was a hulking martial warlord whose face bore the jagged scars of a hundred sky campaigns.

His sweeping obsidian dread-plate armor hummed with suppressive killing intent, while two glowing red soul-gems burned within his iron pauldrons.

Before him, three Chief Astrologers knelt in absolute terror, their foreheads pressed against the metal decking.

"Grand Marshal!" the lead diviner shrieked, pointing a shaking hand toward the central scrying mirror. "The eastern sky has shattered! A Class-10 Spatial Singularity has emerged directly over the territory of the Cloud-Sea Academy!"

Vane-Talon's glowing eyes narrowed as he glared into the mirror.

The scrying surface showed the eastern horizon folding into impossible geometric curves.

Three distinct, mirrored suns burned with blinding fury in the skybox, surrounded by concentric rings of warped space.

"Three suns?" Vane-Talon growled, his iron gauntlet clenching into a fist that bent the air. "Has the Eastern Continent dared to forge an illegal Sun-Swallowing Array? Do those academic cowards seek to burn our western territories to ash?"

"It is worse than an array, Supreme Commander!" the astrologer cried, coughing up a mouthful of stress-induced blood. "Our instruments detect a localized celestial collapse! A singular object with the mass of a primordial world has been condensed within their borders! It is bending the light of the firmament itself!"

Vane-Talon slammed his armored fist onto the iron command console, denting the solid metal plate.

"Insolence!" Vane-Talon roared. "The Eastern Realm has bred a demonic void abomination! If left unchecked, this gravitational heresy will pull the continental plates out of alignment and drag our empire into the void!"

He turned toward his adjutants, his red cape whipping violently in the draft.

"Sound the Grand War Horns of Kar-Thun!" Vane-Talon bellowed, his voice carrying across the entire fortress city. "Mobilize the Iron-Dreadnought Armada! All one hundred and eight fortresses shall take to the sky!"

"All one hundred and eight, my Lord?!" the adjutant gasped, blanching pale. "That is our entire continental defense fleet!"

"Every single one!" Vane-Talon sneered, his fangs bared in a vicious grimace. "We shall cross the border, surround the Seventh Spire, and purge this cosmic anomaly with mountain-shattering cannon fire! Leave nothing behind but smoking glass!"

Within minutes, deep war horns echoed across the iron plains of Kar-Thun.

Massive runic steam engines roared to life inside one hundred and eight colossal dreadnoughts.

The armored behemoths, each half a mile of solid soul-iron plating, lifted slowly into the clouds like a swarm of apocalyptic locusts, steering their prows toward the east.

Meanwhile, at the Eastern Cloud-Sea Academy, Chancellor Valen was having a complete nervous breakdown.

The Grand Council Chamber on Azure Cloud Peak was a disaster zone.

Scrolls were scattered across the floor, discarded talismans were fluttering through the air, and six Grand Elders were huddled around the central scrying basin, sweating profusely.

Chancellor Valen had lost his ceremonial jade hat somewhere under his desk.

His robes were rumpled, his hair was wild, and his eyes were bloodshot with sheer panic.

"We are doomed," Valen whimpered, clutching a jade communication slip in trembling fingers. "It is the end of the academy. The end of the dynasty. The end of everything."

Vice-Chancellor Shen rushed into the hall, clutching an armful of emergency scout reports.

"Chancellor!" Shen shouted, his voice cracking. "The Western Obsidian Coalition has crossed the border straits! One hundred and eight Iron-Dreadnoughts have entered our outer airspace!"

"One hundred and eight..." an elder whispered, collapsing backward into a wooden chair. "The sacred mountain-shattering mana cannons of the West... Even our mountain-protecting grand barrier cannot endure three concentrated salvos!"

The elders turned their terrified gazes toward Valen.

"Chancellor!" another elder pleaded. "Why has Kar-Thun mobilized their supreme fleet against us?! What grand provocation have we committed?!"

Chancellor Valen let out a strangled, hysterical laugh.

He staggered over to the grand balcony of the chamber and pointed a shaking finger toward the Seventh Spire.

Solitude Spire sat serenely in the distance, bathed in the lingering golden brilliance of the warped afternoon sky.

"What provocation?!" Valen shrieked, tearing at his beard. "Look over there! Look at what that monster in the yellow poncho did yesterday!"

The elders crowded onto the balcony, looking toward Solitude Spire.

"He put three suns in the sky!" Valen screamed, his voice reaching a dog-whistle pitch. "Three suns! The astronomers of the Western Coalition thought we were charging a world-destroying apocalyptic beam! They think we are trying to collapse the continent's gravity!"

"Did... did Senior Brother Felix truly construct a cosmic superweapon?" an elder whispered in awe.

"Superweapon?!" Valen yelled, clutching his chest. "I sent a stealth scrying eye this morning! Do you know what he was doing?! He was eating a radish bun! He bent the light of the heavens just to give his giant cabbage more sunlight!"

Silence fell over the council chamber.

The elders stared at Valen with hollow, traumatized expressions.

"And now..." Valen sobbed, sinking down until he was sitting flat on the cold marble floor. "One hundred and eight iron fortresses are coming to obliterate us because of a cabbage! Evacuate the outer disciples! Seal the spirit treasury! Prepare my burial shroud!"

While the rest of the continent spiraled into apocalyptic panic, absolute tranquility reigned over Solitude Spire.

The afternoon breeze rustled softly through the needles of the ancient iron-pines.

Down in the Pocket Garden, Lord Nether-Bane and his two corsairs were humming an ancient pirate shanty while trimming weed shoots.

Their clean hemp aprons fluttered gently around their spectral legs.

The five-star Sun-Lotus Cabbage glowed with rich, amber vitality in the rich soil, completely content with its morning watering.

Over in the corner of the courtyard, the Thunder Gryphon was lounging happily inside its luxury roost.

It chewed lazily on a bowl of candied thunderberries, chirping with quiet satisfaction whenever a cool breeze passed through its feathers.

Up along the roofline, Patriarch Ao Cang and the azure flood dragons were draped along the cedar shingles like decorative reptilian trim.

Ao Cang's chin rested comfortably over the fluted brass downspout mouth, dozing in the warm afternoon sun.

On the porch, Felix Vance stretched out in his deep wooden recliner.

His yellow dragon-scale poncho radiated a steady, comfortable heat against his back.

His dantian felt wonderfully solid and weighted, anchored by the Level 50 white dwarf companion core.

Felix reached out with a lazy hand and picked up the white porcelain Infinite Cozy Teacup.

*Slurp.*

The roasted barley tea and wild honey remained locked at a soothing, perfect 68.5°C.

On the low cedar table beside him, the morning market ledgers were held firmly against the mountain wind by the glowing Soul-Pearl paperweight.

Underneath the table's front left leg, Grandmaster Vivienne's purple Sovereign Heart Seal held the heavy timber frame completely rigid against the porch floorboards.

Up on his brass perch, Barnaby the clockwork owl stood at rigid attention.

The black rubber stopper remained wedged between his brass mandibles, locking the polished copper tip in an unyielding embrace.

Barnaby’s internal escapement wheel clicked in a smooth, rhythmic cadence:

*Tick-tick-click.*

A soft, digital chime sounded from inside Felix's poncho.

*Ding.*

Felix reached into his pocket and pulled out his AetherDeck.

The screen illuminated with a blue system notification window:

[AETHERDECK OS: FACTION RADAR - MOVEMENT DETECTED]
STANDALONE HOST
World Event: Regional Aggro Table Triggered
Approaching Entities: 108x Heavy Iron Skyships
Faction: Western Obsidian Coalition (Vane-Talon Armada)
Classification: Roaming Trash Mob Swarm
Estimated Perimeter Breach: 18 Hours
Threat Evaluation: Extremely Low (Visual Skybox Clutter)
System Note: Incoming units may cast minor shadows on porch.
Recommended Action: Adjust recliner angle to track sunlight.

Felix blinked down at the display, tapping his finger against the wooden casing.

"One hundred and eight iron skyships?" Felix muttered, his voice full of mild, deadpan annoyance. "Are you kidding me? A roving trash mob swarm is migrating through this zone?"

His passive Inspector HUD popped up with an unhurried breakdown:

【Target: Approaching Obsidian Coalition Fleet】 【Ship Count: 108 Iron-Dreadnought Fortresses】 【Total Armament: 1,296 Mountain-Shattering Mana Cannons】 【Threat Level to User: Zero (Harmless Visual Background Mob)】 【Inspector Note: A massive armada of flying scrap metal is heading toward your airspace, triggered by your casual gravitational lensing. While the fleet possesses enough firepower to level three mountain ranges, their anti-gravity keels will likely stall upon entering your micro-gravity threshold. Mostly just noisy. Wear earplugs if the cannon engines disrupt your afternoon tea.】

Felix let out a weary sigh and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Great. More visual noise in the skybox," Felix grumbled. "Just what I needed. A bunch of noisy NPCs flying their clunky airships right through my view distance. If they start dropping engine soot on my drying laundry, I'm filing a bug report with the developers."

Lyra Ashford stepped onto the porch carrying a fresh wooden tray of dried melon seeds.

She saw the flickering blue light of the AetherDeck in Felix's hands and the faint furrow on his brow.

Her sword heart tightened.

"Senior Brother," Lyra said softly, her tone filled with deep reverence. "Has the Great Dao whispered a warning through your divine scrying mirror? I felt a dark, violent tremor echoing from the western skies."

Felix set the AetherDeck face down on the cedar table, right next to the Soul-Pearl paperweight.

"Nothing important, Lyra," Felix said, waving a hand dismissively. "Just a hundred and eight flying junk piles flying in from the west. The game’s spawn rate in this region is completely overtuned. It says they'll be here in eighteen hours."

Lyra’s breath caught in her throat.

Her eyes went wide with sheer, staggering realization.

*A hundred and eight flying junk piles...* she repeated in her mind, her heart hammering against her ribs like a war drum. *The One Hundred and Eight Iron-Dreadnoughts of Kar-Thun! The supreme, invincible sky armada that has crushed three foreign empires without losing a single ship!*

She stared at Felix, who was already leaning back into his chair, lazily reaching for a melon seed.

*He... he calls the most terrifying battle fleet in the mortal world 'flying junk piles'?!* Lyra thought, her knees trembling beneath her white disciple robes. *And he treats their world-ending invasion as an irritating increase in local spawn rates!*

Her mind spun into the familiar, dizzying heights of Di-hua enlightenment.

*Of course!* Lyra realized, her eyes shimmering with profound awe. *To an ancient entity who holds a white dwarf star in his dantian, what are one hundred and eight iron ships? They are nothing more than fallen autumn leaves carried by a wayward gust of wind! Senior Brother has already calculated their fate with absolute mathematical certainty!*

She dropped into a deep, graceful curtsy, bowing her head toward the porch floor.

"Senior Brother’s boundless serenity is truly an ocean that swallows mountains," Lyra whispered. "This disciple shall not allow mortal anxiety to disturb your sacred contemplation."

Felix picked up his Infinite Cozy Teacup and took another slow, contented sip.

*Slurp.*

"Yeah, whatever," Felix said, resting his head against the wooden slats. "Just tell Nether-Bane to put the garden tools away before tomorrow. If those flying blimps kick up dust, I don't want it settling on my cabbage."

He closed his eyes, completely unbothered by the continental armada bearing down upon his home.

The late afternoon sun continued to warm the cedar porch, while deep within the western clouds, one hundred and eight iron behemoths carved their way toward fate.
