Chapter 225: Level 70 Milestone: Dyson Swarm Mastery

The transition from Level 69 to Level 70 occurred exactly where it belonged: in the middle of a deep, uninterrupted nap.

Felix Vance did not sit in the lotus position.

He did not channel ancient spiritual qi through tortured meridians.

He was sprawled lazily in his geostationary wicker recliner beneath the forest-green canvas umbrella, snoring gently with his straw hat tilted over his nose.

His warm cloud-fleece socks were crossed comfortably on the wooden footrest.

On his chest, the glass screen of the AetherDeck suddenly lit up with a brilliant, pulsing golden halo.

*PING.*

*HUMMMMM.*

A subterranean chord of pure cosmic resonance rippled through Felix's dantian.

Deep within his lower abdomen, the Level 60 accretion disk—which had been spinning smoothly for weeks—contracted into an ultra-dense, relativistic golden ring.

Around the white dwarf companion core, three hundred and sixty microscopic golden nodes formed.

They linked together with hair-thin filaments of liquid stellar light, forming an immaculate, microscopic Dyson sphere that completely encased the white dwarf star inside his soul.

A miniature Kardashev-II megastructure had manifested within the biological vessel of a sleeping mortal.

The white dwarf’s ten-million-Kelvin surface heat was completely captured by the internal Dyson shell.

Ninety-nine point nine nine nine percent of the energy was recycled in perpetual, lossless resonance, while exactly zero point zero zero one percent was converted into a soothing, permanent seventy-two-degree comfort halo that radiated through Felix's skin.

A magnificent fanfare of crystal chimes echoed from the AetherDeck:

Outside the cedar railing, forty million miles away, the great solar Dyson Ring around the primary star resonated in perfect sympathy with Felix's dantian.

The three hundred and sixty brass collector nodes flared with soft, iridescent rose-gold radiance.

At that exact moment, the primary star passed behind the golden ring, casting a breathtaking astronomical phenomenon across the heavens of Aethelgard.

Rather than a dark, terrifying eclipse of shadows, the heavens unveiled the Golden Crown Eclipse.

The midday sky turned a gentle, romantic twilight of amber, peach, and lavender.

Around the silhouette of the sun, a blazing ring of pure spun gold hovered like a halo placed upon the brow of the universe.

Down on the surface of Aethelgard, three billion mortal citizens poured into the courtyards and open streets, gazing upward with tears of overwhelming wonder.

In the courtyards of the Radiant Dawn Academy, Chancellor Valen fell to his knees on the marble flagstones, his hands raised in prayer.

Behind him, sixty academy masters and three thousand sword disciples knelt in hushed, trembling worship.

"The Crown of Creation..." Valen whispered, his voice trembling across the stone pavilion. "The Sovereign of Solitude has entered the Seventh Tier of Supreme Divinity! The sun wears his seal! The stars hum his song!"

Vice-Chancellor Morgana stood beside the great brass astrolabe, her fingers trembling as she pointed to the harmonic energy readouts.

"Chancellor!" Morgana wept, tears fogging her crystal spectacles. "The ambient spiritual pressure across all eight continents... it has locked into an eternal spring! Drought is vanquished! Frost is pacified! The mortal world has become an immortal orchard!"

In the royal palace of the Western Sky Empire, Emperor Aurelius stepped down from his dragon throne and pressed his forehead against the marble floor.

"Order forty days of empire-wide jubilation!" Aurelius proclaimed, his voice echoing through the vaulted throne room. "Every citizen shall receive a basket of dried plums and cloud-fleece wool! Let incense burn in every town square to honor the Lord of the Hearth!"

Two miles from the high terrace, Grand Marshal Vane-Talon stood on the bridge of the Imperial Flagship Moonlet.

Around him, the 108 dreadnought moonlets were glowing like lanterns strung along a country lane.

Vane-Talon slowly drew his saber, pressing the flat of the cold steel against his heart.

Beside the flagship hull, the three Abyssal Star-Whales breached through the vacuum, leaping over the golden tether with joyful cries that echoed across the electromagnetic spectrum.

Grand Marshal Vane-Talon took off his gold-braided bicorne hat, holding it against his breast.

"He has ascended the final summit," Vane-Talon murmured, a tear cutting a clear path down his weathered cheek. "Yet he remains upon woven reeds, guarding the peace of the humble. Signal all one hundred and eight ships. Dipped ensigns, half-power lanterns, full perimeter acoustic dampening. The Lord of Heaven has completed his breakthrough; let none disturb his waking rest."

Down across the eight concentric continents of Aethelgard, the Golden Crown Eclipse filled the air with sweet spiritual nectar.

Wild mountain deer lay down beside mountain lions in the amber meadows, resting side by side in total peaceful tranquility.

In the elder pavilion of the Radiant Dawn Academy, Elder Guan-Zhi took a bite of an imperial mountain plum, weeping tears of pure joy as the ambient golden light nourished his meridians.

"The golden epoch has reached its zenith," Guan-Zhi wept softly. "A world without hunger, without cold, without strife. The Sovereign has given heaven to mortals."

Down on the cedar porch of Solitude Spire, thirty miles below the floating terrace, Lyra Ashford and Lord Nether-Bane were sitting at the low table.

Beneath the front-left cedar leg, the Sovereign Heart Seal hummed with profound, absolute tranquility.

The table did not wobble by even one micrometer.

Nether-Bane lifted a steaming cup of green tea, clacking his skeletal jaw with great satisfaction.

"Well, look at that sky, Mistress Lyra," Nether-Bane smiled, purple embers dancing merrily in his eye sockets. "The boy put on a golden crown for the whole world to see. And now the afternoon light is just right for an extra nap."

Lyra smiled serenely, cradling her warm teacup.

"The Senior Brother's heart has never sought power," Lyra said softly. "He simply wanted a porch where the wind was gentle and the tea was warm. And in giving peace to himself, he gave peace to all living things."

Up on the thirty-mile-high orbital terrace, the gentle chime of the AetherDeck finally nudged Felix Vance awake.

He stretched his arms, yawning loudly as he pushed his straw hat up with his forefinger.

He scratched his ribs through his violet void-silk robe, smacking his lips.

"Man, that was a good sleep," Felix mumbled, blinking against the pleasant, rose-gold twilight of the Golden Crown Eclipse.

He looked down at the AetherDeck screen.

The [CLAIM LEVEL 70 REWARDS] button was flashing in warm amber text.

Felix tapped the button with a lazy thumb.

*Ding.*

`Rewards Claimed: +500 Offline Storage Slots, 1x Level 70 Slacker Avatar Frame.`

Felix inspected his personal status screen.

An Inspector HUD tooltip materialized before his eyes:

【Player: Felix Vance】 【Cultivation Realm: Level 70 [Dyson Swarm Master]】 【Internal Megastructure: Micro-Dyson Stellar Enclosure [100.0% Containment]】 【Core Temperature: 10,000,000 Kelvin White Dwarf Core [0.000 Kelvin Leakage]】 【External Comfort Field: Permanent 72.0°F Auto-Thermostat】 【Inspector Note: You have reached the pinnacle of cosmic cultivation. You possess enough thermonuclear energy to sustain three galactic empires for ten billion years, yet you use it exclusively to keep your cloud-fleece socks warm and prevent your tea from cooling off. Sells for zero gold, completely priceless to the greatest slacker in existence.】

Felix read the tooltip and grinned, rubbing his chin.

"Level seventy," Felix whispered, feeling the deep, effortless warmth radiating through his dantian. "And I did not even have to do one escort quest. Truly, macro scripts are the greatest invention in gaming history."

He tapped over to the maintenance countdown window:

`Scheduled Server Maintenance: T-Minus 24 Chapters` `Status: All Systems Fully Prepared`

"Twenty-four chapters left," Felix chuckled softly. "A whole final arc before the big update. Plenty of time to enjoy the new perks."

He reached over to the table and picked up his frosted clay cup.

He took a slow, refreshing sip of forty-degree plum wine, savoring the crisp mountain fruit.

Then, he stood up and walked over to the cedar railing.

He rested his forearms on the smooth, wax-polished handrail, gazing out across the magnificent, illuminated cosmos.

Forty million miles away, the Dyson Ring spun in silent, golden glory around the sun.

Below his elbows, the eight concentric continents glided in eternal harmony across the sapphire sea.

Beside the platform, the 108 dreadnoughts maintained their peaceful vigil, while the three star-whales swam lazily through the stardust.

And tucked safely behind the four-inch balusters, the Brazilian cotton hammock swayed with gentle, slow grace in the warm breeze.

Felix looked at the swinging hammock.

Then he looked at his wicker recliner.

"The recliner was great for the breakthrough nap," Felix chuckled softly. "Now... time to test the hammock."

He walked over to the woven bed, kicked off his cloth slippers, and swung his fleece-clad legs into the soft cotton folds.

The hammock enveloped him like a cloud.

He gave the railing a gentle tap with his toe, setting the bed into a slow, frictionless three-second sway.

Felix pulled his straw hat down until it rested across the bridge of his nose.

Barnaby clicked softly on the corner post, his atomic gears ticking in perfect time with the universe.

The tea was warm.

The wine was cold.

The Wi-Fi was eleven point seven milliseconds.

The chores were automated.

And Felix Vance, the undisputed supreme slacker of the cosmos, closed his eyes and drifted into the sweetest, most magnificent slumber of his life as Arc 09 drew to its perfect, golden close.
