Director Vance shook the thick stack of papers in the air. The heavy red wax seals flapped like dry leaves. Behind him, four foreign lawyers in crisp grey suits unfolded leather briefcases, their expressions sharp and cold.
“Hear me well, Chairman Lin!” Vance sneered, his voice ringing through the expo speakers. “Munich Advanced Optics holds twenty-four international patents on photonic crystal routing. Dr. Lin Wei worked in our German lab three years ago. Every calculation in that module belongs to us!”
Dr. Lin Wei’s face flushed with anger. She stepped forward to the stage railing, her fists clenched tightly at her sides.
“That is a complete lie!” Dr. Lin Wei shouted. “Your Munich lab used traditional silicon-doped crystal lattices! My module uses pure quartz crystal with zero-defect sub-nanometer planar tracks! I invented the entire routing mathematics myself while living in a six-square-meter basement in Munich!”
“Who will believe a penniless researcher?” Vance laughed mockingly. “The international patent court honors registered paper, not basement sob stories. Unless you want every Taichu chip banned from export, Chairman Lin, we can settle right now.”
Lin Mo leaned against the handrail, his hands tucked casually inside his dark coat pockets. He tilted his head slightly.
