Chapter 206: The Macro Scripting Dilemma

Felix Vance woke up from his orbital nap with a refreshed yawn and a deeply satisfying stretch.

His geostationary wicker recliner hovered silently at eighteen thousand paces above Solitude Spire.

The twelve-millisecond optical hyper-link to the primary sun hummed steadily through the six-foot copper parabolic dish mounted behind his headrest.

Barnaby the Clockwork Owl ruffled his brass plumage on the armrest, giving a quiet series of metallic clicks.

Tick... tock... click.

Felix picked up the AetherDeck from his chest.

The background download had completed with flying colors.

A bright blue banner flashed across the top of the glass display:

*Patch 2.0 Successfully Installed. All Services Online.*

Felix tapped into his daily quest menu, expecting a few simple check-in boxes.

Instead, a massive list of routine harvesting quests popped up in bright red text:

*Daily Solar Sweep: Tap Sun 500 Times to Gather Plasma Pellets.*

*Corona Sift: Swipe Left and Right 200 Times to Filter Stray Space Dust.*

*Flare Harvest: Timed Quick-Time Event (Every 4 Hours).*

Felix stared at the screen with narrowing eyes and an expression of pure, unadulterated disgust.

"Five hundred taps?" Felix groaned, shaking his head until his straw hat flopped against his eyebrows. "Every four hours? What do these developers think I am, a sweatshop clicker?"

He rubbed the joint of his right thumb.

Back on Earth, Felix had played plenty of free-to-play mobile games that tried this exact garbage trick.

They called themselves 'idle games', but the moment you installed the client, they bombarded you with chores.

They expected you to log in before breakfast, log in during lunch, and set an alarm at three in the morning to collect bonus energy before the meter capped out.

"An idle game that requires active finger tapping every four hours is not an idle game," Felix complained aloud to Barnaby. "It’s an unpaid internship with a shiny user interface."

Barnaby rotated his head ninety degrees, clicking his brass beak in sympathetic agreement.

"If I wanted to spend all day tapping a screen," Felix muttered, "I would have gotten a job in data entry. I came to this peaceful cultivation world to lounge in a hammock, sip plum wine, and take sixteen-hour naps."

He refused to let a mobile game dictate his sleep schedule.

Felix tapped the settings menu in the corner of the slate, scrolling past the graphics sliders and audio toggles until he reached the developer sub-menu:

[Advanced User Preferences: Custom Macro Automation].

An Inspector HUD tooltip flickered into view over the macro settings in pale blue text.

【System Feature: Custom Macro Automation Engine】 【Compatibility: Level 60 Stellar Core Account Holders】 【Purpose: Automates Repetitive Harvesting Tasks】 【Requirements: 1x External Physical Guidance Ring to Loop System Calls】 【Inspector Note: Allows the user to program automated loops so the game plays itself while you doze, drink tea, or read light novels. Requires a physical orbital magnetic ring around the star to stabilize the automated macro loop. If deployed correctly, taps and swipes will execute automatically with zero human effort.】

Felix’s face broke into a broad, joyful grin.

"Now we’re talking," Felix chuckled, cracking his knuckles with genuine excitement. "Macro scripting. The true soul of PC gaming. Why click a button five hundred times when a simple loop script can do it for you while you sleep?"

He opened the script editor on the AetherDeck.

The interface provided a clean, dark-mode text editor with syntax highlighting.

Felix sat cross-legged in the wicker recliner, tapping out lines of code with practiced gamer efficiency.

He added careful safety checks and delay timers so the server wouldn't flag his account for suspicious botting behavior.

Felix reviewed his code with immense satisfaction.

"Short, sweet, and to the point," Felix nodded. "While the server is running, collect the loot and let me sleep for four hours. Beautiful."

Down in the Astral Observatory of the Radiant Dawn Academy, the projection mirrors suddenly flared with burning golden text.

Chancellor Valen, Vice-Chancellor Morgana, and forty senior formation masters crowded around the central basin, staring at the glowing script in stunned disbelief.

"Look at the celestial runes floating in the Master's aura!" Morgana cried out, her parchment maps trembling in her hands. "The sacred glyphs of the First Dawn!"

The elders examined the projected code:

*while server_online do*

*scan_solar_perimeter()*

*collect_excess_plasma_pellets()*

*sleep(14400)*

*end*

"What unfathomable heavenly dialect is this?" Elder Wu whispered, his knees trembling violently. "'While server online do...' What is the 'server'?"

Chancellor Valen took off his spectacles, wiping away tears of sheer enlightenment.

"The 'server' is the Grand Framework of Reality itself!" Valen declared with absolute religious conviction. "The cosmic server that hosts all living souls, all stars, and all nine heavens! The Master is commanding the Grand Universe to perform its eternal cycle of creation without requiring his personal intervention!"

Valen pointed to line six of the sacred text.

"And look at his divine decree!" Valen choked out, pressing his hands together. "'Sleep fourteen thousand four hundred breaths!' The Master is codifying the Law of Divine Slumber into the foundational architecture of the cosmos! He commands the universe to spin so that the Creator may rest in eternal tranquility!"

The scribes in the observatory wept as they recorded the sacred words into the Golden Annals.

Up in the orbit of the Seventh Spire, Grand Marshal Vane-Talon stood on the forward bridge of the *Sovereign Dawn*.

The navigation mirrors on his bridge suddenly flared with identical golden text.

"Marshal!" his chief navigator shouted, frantically pointing brass calipers toward the celestial quadrant. "The Master’s recliner is radiating an immense, rhythmic pulse of spatial commands! He is preparing a celestial deployment!"

"What kind of deployment?" Vane-Talon asked, his heart hammering against his ribs.

"Look at the trajectory vectors!" the navigator gasped. "Three hundred and sixty coordinates... all plotted in a perfect, unbroken circle around the primary star! It is an orbital ring formation!"

Vane-Talon gripped the iron binnacle, his voice echoing across the speaking tubes: "All dreadnoughts, hold your positions! Clear the orbital lanes! Do not obstruct the Master's golden heralds!"

Up in the quiet void of space, Felix had no idea that forty academy scholars and eight thousand dreadnought crewmen were having synchronized religious breakthroughs over his Lua script.

He pulled a small dried apricot from his pocket, popped it into his mouth, and chewed thoughtfully.

He checked his inventory screen, looking at the 360-Piece Reflective Brass Collector Array he had summoned from the gacha jackpot.

Each brass node was about the size of a melon, polished to a mirror finish and fitted with delicate, curved solar collector wings.

Inside each node was an autonomous gravitational guidance crystal designed to link with neighboring nodes via superconducting plasma tethers.

"All right, little guys," Felix said, hovering his finger over option one on the screen. "Time to go to work so I don't have to."

Beside his chair, the three Abyssal Star-Whales glided in slow, protective circles.

The lead whale let out a deep, harmonious twenty-two hertz hum that resonated through the wicker frame like a drumroll of encouragement.

Felix chuckled.

"Even the space whales agree," Felix said with a smirk. "Automation is the only way to play."

He placed his thumb firmly onto [1. DEPLOY NODES].

A soft mechanical chime echoed through the silent void.

The 360 brass collector nodes burst from his inventory in a dazzling, golden fountain of sparkling light.

They did not tumble randomly into the vacuum.

Guided by the autonomous macro script, the 360 golden nodes formed a sweeping, majestic arc across the heavens, accelerating toward the primary star at seventy thousand leagues per hour.

Felix leaned back in his wicker chair, watching the golden sparks stream across the cosmic darkness like an unbroken line of shooting stars.

He reached into his robe pocket, pulled out his bamboo flask of warm roasted barley tea, and took a slow, refreshing sip.

Down on the cedar porch of Solitude Spire, Lyra Ashford dropped to both knees on the polished timber floorboards.

Her lilac eyes reflected the dazzling stream of three hundred and sixty golden shooting stars arcing across the sky.

Beside her, Lord Nether-Bane pushed his tricorne hat back, scratching his skeletal temple with the tip of his iron rake.

"Blimey, Mistress Lyra," Nether-Bane whispered in a ghostly rasp. "Look at the Master go! He’s planting golden seeds in the starry sky just like we plant golden radishes in the vegetable patch!"

"They are not mere seeds, Groundskeeper," Lyra replied, her voice trembling with ecstatic devotion as she penned the event in her silk-bound journal. "The Senior Brother has cast the Sacred Beads of the Eternal Cycle into the furnace of the heavens! He has commanded the starry expanse to toil on his behalf, so that peace may reign over his hearth forevermore!"

Up in the orbital wicker chair, Felix checked the AetherDeck screen.

A small progress wheel spun smoothly as the first twelve nodes settled into their designated coordinates around the burning solar equator.

*Cluster Alpha In Position. Magnetic Coupling: Initializing.*

Barnaby the Clockwork Owl rotated his head forty-five degrees on the armrest, his balance wheel clicking in microsecond resonance with the magnetic pulses radiating from the distant star.

The black rubber stopper in his beak was firmly seated, and his polished copper plumage glinted with celestial golden light.

Felix pulled his straw hat down over his brow, let out a long, content sigh, and closed his eyes.

"Run smoothly, little script," Felix murmured with a sleepy grin. "Papa needs his rest."
