Chapter 209: Infinite Mana Grid

The morning sun over Aethelgard rose not with its usual harsh glare, but with a warm, amber brilliance that bathed the mortal realm in soothing light.

High above the clouds, forty million miles from the realm’s crust, the Kardashev-II Dyson Ring circled the primary star like an immaculate crown of spun gold.

Its three hundred and sixty brass collector nodes maintained their silent, synchronized dance with celestial mechanics.

Every four hours, the automated macro script `Lazy_Solar_Autoharvest_v1.lua` executed on Felix Vance’s AetherDeck with mathematical precision.

The script siphoned exactly zero point zero one percent of the star’s excess coronal flare energy.

To the star, this was less than a stray ember shed by a raging bonfire.

To Felix Vance, reclined in his geostationary wicker chair thirty miles above Solitude Spire, it was a tidy haul of twelve billion plasma units per cycle.

A gentle chime resonated from the handheld device resting on his lap.

Felix opened one eye, tilting his straw hat back with a languid flick of his forefinger.

The amber screen displayed a blinking firmware warning:

AETHERDECK THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: FIRMWARE ALERT
STANDALONE HOST
Battery Bank: Level 60 Accretion Disk [CAPACITY 100.0%]
Storage Buffer: White Dwarf Companion Core [STABLE]
Incoming Energy Surplus: +11,980,000,000 Plasma Units/Hr
Alert Code: OVERFLOW_TRICKLE_DETECTED
[SAFETY PROTOCOL INITIATED]: Excess energy cannot be stored
without raising local system temperature above 72.0°F.
Activating automatic copper grounding wire shunt.
Destination: Planetary Crust [Aethelgard Core Ground Bed]
Status: Diverting 99.9% of surplus solar trickle to Earth
Thermal Load on Player Recliner: 0.000 Kelvin change

Felix exhaled a soft puff of air, thoroughly unimpressed by the staggering astronomical numbers.

"A basic surge protector," Felix muttered, resting his chin against his collarbone. "Any decent electrician knows you don't let excess voltage linger in the power strip. Always ground your setup, otherwise you blow out your capacitors."

He tapped the screen once to dismiss the dialogue box.

The silver grounding wire running down the leg of his wicker recliner pulsed with a soft, iridescent sheen.

The wire descended through the troposphere like a strand of spider silk, anchoring directly into the bedrock below the Seventh Spire’s cedar porch.

Through that microscopic conductor, twelve billion units of refined stellar plasma poured into the geological mantle of Aethelgard.

Felix pulled his straw hat back over his eyes and folded his hands across his stomach.

"Good firmware," he murmured happily. "Zero overheating. Back to my nap."

Down on the surface of the world, however, the "grounding wire trickle" was about to rewrite the fundamental laws of mortal existence.

In the southern courtyard of the Radiant Dawn Academy, Chancellor Valen was reviewing the quarterly spirit stone budget.

For six hundred years, the Academy’s greatest existential crisis had been spirit vein depletion.

Every hundred years, the subterranean mana veins dried up a little further, forcing sects to wage bloody territorial wars over remaining geysers.

Valen sighed, rubbing his temples as he looked at the ledgers.

"At this rate of extraction," Valen muttered to Vice-Chancellor Morgana, "our outer disciple dormitories will have to ration heating talismans by winter."

Before Morgana could respond, the marble floor beneath their boots began to vibrate.

Instead of the violent shudder of an earthquake, the stone gave off a gentle shudder.

It was a melodic, resonant thrum, like the plucked string of a cosmic lute.

*ZRRRRRR.*

From the cracks between the paving stones, tiny ribbons of emerald and azure mist began to seep upward.

The air in the courtyard grew thick, sweet, and cool, carrying the scent of fresh pine needles and blooming night orchids.

"Chancellor!" Morgana shrieked, pointing her brass divining rod at the Academy fountain. "Look at the water!"

The central fountain, which had been trickling murky mountain runoff, suddenly surged with crystalline liquid.

The water glowed with faint golden bioluminescence.

When a drop splashed onto Morgana’s sleeve, the fabric did not merely dry—the threads healed their own worn hems.

Valen drew a frantic breath.

The moment the atmospheric mist touched his lungs, his ancient meridians expanded.

Years of accumulated cultivation fatigue dissolved like frost before a blazing hearth.

His internal golden core, which had remained stagnant at the third tier for two centuries, spun with ferocious, joyful momentum.

*CRACK.*

A crisp sound echoed from his dantian.

Valen froze in absolute terror and astonishment.

"My... my bottleneck?" Valen gasped, clutching his chest. "I broke through? Just from inhaling the courtyard breeze?"

Across the entire mountain range of the Seven Spires, thousands of simultaneous gasps filled the morning air.

In the outer disciple training grounds, four hundred teenage apprentices were performing their routine morning sword forms.

Suddenly, eighty of them dropped their wooden practice blades as golden auras erupted from their sternums.

"Master! I hit Qi Condensation level five!" an apprentice screamed, dancing in circles.

"I reached Foundation Establishment while tying my boots!" another cried, bursting into tears of pure disbelief.

Over at the Elder Pavilion, Elder Guan-Zhi was halfway through eating a crisp autumn pear when his spiritual sea suddenly flooded with boundless energy.

He swallowed the bite of pear, choked slightly, and broke through two minor cultivation tiers before he could wipe his chin with a napkin.

"What sorcery is this?" Guan-Zhi stammered, staring at the half-eaten pear in his trembling hand. "Did this fruit come from an immortal orchard?"

"It is not the fruit, Elder Guan-Zhi!" Morgana shouted from the courtyard steps, her face flushed with ecstatic revelation. "It is the sky! Look at the planetary mana readings!"

Morgana held up her primary mana astrolabe.

The delicate platinum needle, which had previously hovered around twelve units per cubic yard, was spinning so fast it looked like a solid disc of silver wire.

"The ambient mana concentration across the continent has tripled!" Morgana announced, her voice shaking across the courtyard. "No... it has quadrupled! The barren veins beneath the earth are drinking from an infinite celestial reservoir!"

Down in the lower valleys, common farmers ran into their fields with wooden buckets.

Fields of barren clay that had not yielded crops in three generations were carpeted in vibrant emerald barley within twenty minutes.

Carrots grew to the size of tree stumps.

Tomatoes swelled into plump, glowing orbs that tasted like concentrated nectar.

In the Great Crag Mountains, the exhausted copper and iron mines began undergoing miraculous transmutation.

Miners swung their pickaxes against common granite, only to watch the stone fracture into dazzling clusters of high-grade spirit quartz.

"The earth is alive!" the mining foremen shouted, weeping as they tossed their iron helmets into the air. "The mountain is pouring out wealth!"

In the royal palace of the Western Sky Empire, Emperor Aurelius rushed to his observatory balcony.

The grand imperial spirit arrays, which usually consumed eighty thousand spirit stones a day to maintain defensive barriers, were suddenly operating at three hundred percent efficiency while drawing zero fuel from the vault.

In fact, the imperial batteries were overflowing, sending waves of soothing golden luminescence through the city streets.

"Chancellor of the Exchequer!" Aurelius bellowed, his imperial robes billowing in the fragrant mana wind.

"Sire!" the terrified minister cried, kneeling instantly.

"Burn the tax ledgers!" Aurelius commanded with a triumphant laugh. "There is no more poverty in our empire! The Sovereign of Solitude has grounded his celestial furnace into our soil! We are bathing in the bathwater of a supreme immortal!"

Up on the cedar porch of Solitude Spire, the focal point of the universal miracle was quiet and unhurried.

Lord Nether-Bane was standing in the cabbage patch, holding his iron rake with both skeletal hands.

Beneath his iron-shod boots, the soil was bubbling like warm porridge.

The Sun-Lotus Cabbages, which had already grown to monstrous proportions in earlier weeks, were now the size of carriage wheels.

Their crisp, translucent leaves emitted a steady, soothing green glow that illuminated the porch like lanterns.

"Well, bless my dried-up bones," Nether-Bane chuckled, his jaw clacking merrily. "Mistress Lyra, you might want to bring out the large pickling crocks. These cabbages are growing faster than a startled rabbit."

Lyra Ashford emerged from the kitchen doorway, carrying a steaming pot of barley tea.

She paused on the wooden porch, looking down at the cabbage patch and then up toward the sky.

The Sovereign Heart Seal under the table leg hummed with steady, rhythmic grace, acting as the master dampener that smoothed the planetary influx into a gentle, non-destructive ripple.

"The Senior Brother's benevolence knows no boundaries," Lyra said softly, her violet eyes brimming with profound understanding.

She set the teapot onto the cedar table and looked up into the clouds.

"The ancient texts spoke of the Age of Scarcity," Lyra whispered. "Sages slaughtered each other for a single immortal herb. Sects were wiped out over a handful of spirit stones. And yet, to Senior Brother Felix, boundless abundance is simply the byproduct of a well-grounded porch."

She walked over to the corner of the porch where the Indestructible Void Hamper sat.

Inside the hamper, Felix’s spare socks and tunics rested peacefully, completely purified of dust and odors by the ambient field.

"He does not conquer through force," Lyra murmured, folding her hands over her sash. "He conquers through comfort. When the world is filled with endless warmth and harvest, who would ever dare disturb his rest?"

Nether-Bane tapped his iron rake against the soil, grinning.

"You speak the absolute truth, Mistress," the old skeleton agreed. "If any fool ever tries to attack this mountain, forty mortal emperors and three hundred grandmasters will march out to turn them into compost before the Master even rolls over in his sleep."

High above them in the geostationary orbit, Felix Vance shifted slightly in his wicker recliner.

A stray solar ray struck his cheek, but his Level 60 accretion disk instantly siphoned the heat into his dantian, leaving him perfectly cool.

He checked his AetherDeck one last time before his eyelids grew heavy.

【AetherDeck Global Network: Connected】 【Ping to Solar Primary: 12ms [EXCELLENT]】 【Bedrock Grounding Efficiency: 100.0%】 【Local Environment Temperature: 70.0°F】 【Status: Optimal Slacking Conditions Achieved】

Felix smiled in his sleep, pulling his straw hat down until it covered his chin.

The cosmos continued to spin in mathematical perfection around his chair, guided by the quiet hum of his automated macro script.
